About Us

Akhand jyot charity trust is a registered welfare Trust under 1950 Bombay Public Trust Act., with its Registration No. E-3787, 4th March 1980. Akhand Jyot is a Family and children’s welfare agency. It has programs in the field of Health Education, Vocational trainings and Empowerment of women at Urban and Rural level. The programs are funded by State & Central Govt., and private donors.
It has extended and expended its services over the years to reach to maximum number of beneficiaries through 3 branch offices. The highly experienced and an active Managing Trustee Mrs. Nirmala Patel guides, helps and motivates the team to work efficiently.

To create healthy families by educating children and empowering, motivating and helped women to maintaining harmony and peace in the family.

Objectives:

  1. To carry out Women’s welfare programs like literacy, vocational training, income generating, general health care, care of pregnant women, establishing & managing Gruh Mandali, Mahila Kalyan Kendra, Awareness Shibirs and Family Counseling Centers.
  2. To carry out Children’s welfare programs for underprivileged children like welfare of street children, Sponsorship, Non-Formal Education, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Medical Check-up of all children and providing educational kit to sponsored Children
  3. Community awareness Participation and ownership in all the programs encouraged through series of educative programs with the community.

Our Achievements:

Miss Freny Gandhi, past trustee, founder member and present consultant has received an award from Social Welfare Dep., Guj. State for her remarkable contribution in children’s welfare field in the year 1993.
Mrs. Nirmala patel, Managing Trustee & founder member has received an award from Stree Kelvani Mandal, Ahmedabad in recognition of her services in the field of women’s welfare in the year 1999.
Mrs. Sharda Patel, trustee has received an award from Stree Kelavani Mandal for here contribution in women’s development and social services in the year 2003.
Akhand Jyot was selected for an award grant from the whole of Asia for its innovative rural project of ‘Buffalo rearing’ in the year 1993 from International Community Education Association, England.
Akhand Jyot provides scholarship to poor and needy students to continue higher studies and help to the victims of natural and man made calamities.
Akhand Jyot also provides guidance and help to MSW students by providing placement it different programs of the agency.
